1.600 kits de Starlink conectarán escuelas y comunidades
Paraguay da otro gran paso en su proceso de transformación digital con 1.600 kits de Starlink, una iniciativa que ampliará significativamente el acceso a la conectividad en escuelas rurales, centros de salud y otros lugares estratégicos de todo el país.
Esta iniciativa complementa los esfuerzos en curso liderados por el Ministerio de Tecnologías de la Información y las Comunicaciones (MITIC) y la Compañía Paraguaya de Comunicaciones (COPACO) como parte de una alianza destinada a reducir la brecha digital y llevar oportunidades a comunidades remotas y desatendidas.
Con la incorporación de los 1.600 kits, el alcance de esta iniciativa crecerá sustancialmente, permitiendo que la conectividad llegue a más comunidades que históricamente han enfrentado desafíos para acceder a servicios de banda ancha fiables.
Este proyecto reforzará significativamente una estrategia nacional de conectividad que ya está en marcha. Gracias a una inversión del Gobierno paraguayo, ya se han instalado 100 kits en escuelas rurales de la región del Chaco, como parte de un objetivo inicial de conectar 500 sitios, entre los que se incluyen instituciones educativas y centros de salud.
La incorporación de estos nuevos kits ampliará estas iniciativas y llevará la conectividad a más escuelas, centros de salud y comunidades, mejorando el acceso a la educación, la información y los servicios digitales para miles de paraguayos.
La identificación y priorización de los lugares beneficiarios se lleva a cabo mediante un proceso técnico liderado por MITIC y COPACO, que evalúa las áreas donde la conectividad puede generar el mayor impacto social, dando prioridad a las comunidades vulnerables, las zonas rurales aisladas, las instituciones educativas y los centros de atención al ciudadano.
Ampliar el acceso a la conectividad refuerza la inclusión digital y crea oportunidades. Con cada escuela, centro de salud y comunidad conectados al ecosistema digital, Paraguay se acerca a un futuro más inclusivo, en el que la distancia geográfica ya no es una barrera para el progreso.

1,600 Starlink kits will connect schools and communities
Paraguay is taking another major step in its digital transformation journey with 1,600 Starlink kits, an initiative that will significantly expand access to connectivity in rural schools, healthcare facilities, and other strategic locations across the country.
This initiative complements the ongoing efforts led by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (MITIC) and the Paraguayan Communications Company (COPACO) as part of a partnership aimed at reducing the digital divide and bringing opportunities to remote and underserved communities.
With the addition of the 1,600 kits, the scope of this initiative will grow substantially, enabling connectivity to reach more communities that have historically faced challenges in accessing reliable broadband services.
The effort will significantly strengthen a national connectivity strategy that is already underway. Through an investment made by the Paraguayan Government, 100 kits have already been installed in rural schools in the Chaco region as part of an initial goal of connecting 500 sites, including educational institutions and healthcare facilities.
The incorporation of these new kits will expand these efforts and bring connectivity to more schools, health centers, and communities, enhancing access to education, information, and digital services for thousands of Paraguayans.
The identification and prioritization of beneficiary sites are carried out through a technical process led by MITIC and COPACO, which evaluates the areas where connectivity can generate the greatest social impact, prioritizing vulnerable communities, isolated rural areas, educational institutions, and citizen service centers.
Expanding access to connectivity strengthens digital inclusion and creates opportunities. With each school, healthcare facility, and community connected to the digital ecosystem, Paraguay moves closer to a more inclusive future-one in which geographic distance is no longer a barrier to progress.
